The reaction proceeded with exclusive regioselectivity and without epimerization of the α-stereocenter in the products. The synthesized diastereomerically pure 2-bromoethyl ketones underwent smooth copper and nickel-catalyzed alkylation, alkenylation, and arylations reactions.
